City Gardens’ Trillium Tower Takes a Step Closer to the Sky  February 13, 2024

In the heart of Downtown Kamloops, another exciting phase in the City Gardens development has begun, as the fixed mast tower crane has recently been lifted. This marks a significant milestone in the 24-storey Trillium tower’s progress to keep moving skyward.

The ascent took place between February 9th through February 11th, 2024, with the installation of a new mast section onto the specially designed climbing frame. From that point on, hydraulic jacks then lifted the crane’s entire structure, allowing the addition of another mast section underneath. Thanks to the extensive planning and organization of the development team, this process repeated until the desired height was reached.

“This is such a big step in the tower’s progress, as the crane must be lifted in order to build the upper floors of Trillium, otherwise it would be lower than the top of the building,” explained Brendan Shaw, the project’s REALTOR®.

To ensure the safety of both the equipment and the personnel involved, the climbing operation occurred while the crane remained dedicated solely to lifting itself during the process.

Additionally, Trillium’s 12th floor has now been poured, along with the top portion of the West Condo transfer. Progress continues with the installation of window wall channels on the 3rd floor and plumbing/sprinkler rough-in work on all floors of the tower.

“We are pleased with the overall progress of the project which is a testament to the in-depth knowledge and experience the construction team and subcontractors have when it comes to building the largest residential tower in our region,” added Shaw.

Prospective residents can look forward to Trillium’s upcoming milestones, which include topping out of the tower, finishing up to the podium level on the West side, and completing the North parkade up to the podium level.

Without a doubt, these additions have marked a tangible progression in the development’s journey, emphasizing Kelson Group’s commitment to delivering a skyline-defining project.

Over the past couple of weeks, Shaw and his team have noticed a sudden uptick in inquiries and visits to the City Gardens’ Sales Centre and Show Suite, with prospective purchasers interested in learning more about Trillium.

“A lot of people are expressing interest now that we can see the building take shape. This curiosity has resulted in a number of sales the last couple of months,” Shaw said. “We are delighted to see the progress at City Gardens and can’t wait to show our purchasers the finished product next year.”

Be sure to stop by the City Gardens Sales Centre and Show Suite at 238 4th Avenue, open Thursday to Sunday 11am – 3pm or anytime by appointment or contact REALTOR® Brendan Shaw at Brendan@BSRE.ca
