A Love Story of Refurbishment March 17, 2022

Kelson Group has been working closely with local researchers and restorers on a mission to salvage the best-kept items from old houses in downtown Kamloops before deconstruction. For Jenna Monroe and her husband, seeing the old radiators from the house at 438 Nicola Street was love at first sight!

“My husband and I purchased a mid-century home in the Sagebrush community in downtown Kamloops in October of 2020,” remarked Monroe. “We wanted to add some old-school charm to our home.”

When the couple first heard the news of the deconstruction of the old houses, they contacted Kelson Group to salvage the radiators. The old radiators were sandblasted, pressure tested and repainted to enhance their historical attributes.

“They will be centerpieces of our home,” said Monroe. “Two going in our main entrance, either side of the door, one in the dining room, two possibly in our formal living room and the rest in the master suite.”

The salvage project is another way Kelson Group is helping to preserve some of the history and work with community to help make it all happen.
