First-Time Home Buyer 2.0 March 6, 2023

As a first-time home buyer, you naturally have questions. City Gardens First Time Home Buyer Seminar 2.0 has your answers.

This free seminar will be held on Thursday, April 27, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the City Garden Sales Centre and Show Suite at 238 4th Avenue. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be several exciting door prizes to be won.

The seminar aims to give buyers an overview of how to connect the financial dots when buying their first home.

Presenters featured are local experts, including Luc Mathieu from Mortgage Tech, who will review the mortgage process from start to finish, touching upon documentation and down payment requirements to how your credit score is comprised. Daniele L. McDonald from Gibraltar Law will be on hand to help buyers identify costs to expect when purchasing their first home. While Taylor Bertoli, from Abbott Wealth Management – Harbourfront Wealth Management, will discuss how to save for your first mortgage.

When saving for your first home, Taylor Bertoli recommends Stephen Covey’s concept to “begin with the end in mind.”

“If you visualize what your new home may look and feel like, it is easier to figure out what you need to do in terms of saving and planning to get there.”

“There are incentives available to First Time Buyers, along with the ever-important rate/product selection”, explains Luc Mathieu. “Even though rates have increased over the past year, current mortgage costs are similar to those during the pandemic. We encourage potential buyers to reach out and start the pre-approval process sooner than later. We will happily run any and all scenarios they are contemplating.”

Looking forward to the upcoming seminar is REALTOR® Brendan Shaw of Brendan Shaw Real Estate.

“Our team was delighted over the popularity of our first seminar, and we anticipate this edition to be equally successful.”

Admission is free but limited to 20 attendees, so reserve your seat now.
