As the primary electrical contractor for the City Gardens project, Howell Electric Ltd. will install the complete electrical infrastructure for the development, including the main electrical service and distribution, emergency stand-by generator, lighting controls, energy management, fire alarm and evacuation systems, communications systems, renewable energy sources, and electric vehicle (EV) charging systems.
Founded in 1984 by Gordon Howell, Howell Electric Ltd. are electrical contractors and Licensed Electrical FSRs with Class A & B certifications serving the B.C. Interior. In 2015, Gordon’s son Brent took ownership and continued the Howell family electrician legacy. Born and raised in Kamloops, Brent is a 3rd generation electrician with 30 years of experience. His daughter, Emelia, has recently begun her electrical apprenticeship, opening the door to a continuation of the Howell Electric family business for many more years to come.
If you live in Kamloops, you have likely seen some of their work. Howell Electric outfitted The Lightwell and Library Square apartment complexes, as well as The View’s three luxury apartment buildings, which received light emitting diode (LED) lighting throughout, a full access control and surveillance system and an integrated fire protection safety system that includes power inverters for emergency lighting in the event of a power outage. At Monte Creek Ranch Winery, they installed modern, high-end lighting and control systems and outfitted the new 15,000 square foot production facility with moisture-proof electrical metallic tube and devices, fan controls, and intelligent shade controls in addition to indoor and outdoor LED lighting, fire alarm and emergency light fixtures.
