Life in the City Gardens Neighbourhood: April March 15, 2023

Spring fever has officially arrived, and the City Gardens neighbourhood has the cure. Whether you crave art, culture, fine dining, shopping, nature or nightlife to satisfy your seasonal restlessness, it is all within walking distance.

Every Saturday at 8:00 pm, Alchemy Brewing Company offers Tremendous Trivia. Hosted by NL Radio news anchor Victor Kaisar, teams compete for prizes in a general knowledge battle and ‘Name That Tune’ rounds. A discount late-night menu and rotating drink specials are available.

April 21, at 7:00 pm, The London Creative presents Vinyl Williams with Forest Ray, Mother Sun and Highland Eyeway. Hailing from Los Angeles, Vinyl Williams combines melodic pop music and visionary artwork to make what is described as celestial music. Forest Ray, from Seattle, experiments in the analog and psychedelic, combining guitar-driven psych rock with synth-laced post-punk, Americana, garage and organ-laden pop. Local group, Mother Sun, meshes psych-pop rock arrangements with contemplative vocals and jazz-inspired grooves. While Vancouver’s Highland Eyeway’s sounds are inspired by nature and influenced by Stereolab, Dinosaur Jr. and Boards of Canada. Tickets available at this link.

April 27, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, as part of the Women’s Night collection, the Kamloops Makerspace offers Woodshop 101. Learn how to use woodshop tools to DIY your very own charcuterie board.

May 17, at 6:00 pm, Underbelly by the Pig presents “Spring into Plant-Based.” Their experienced culinary team advises you to show up hungry for this edition of their ongoing multi-coursed dinner events. Sitting is limited. Buy your tickets today.
