Life in the City Gardens Neighbourhood: September August 23, 2023

As the warmth of summer gradually gives way to the crisp air of early fall, there’s a unique sense of anticipation in the City Gardens neighbourhood. September in Downtown Kamloops is the best time to explore the endless outdoor activities and new delicious food options this city offers!

If you are a nature lover, this is the perfect opportunity to stroll or bike through the beautiful Rivers Trail. Starting at the west end of Riverside Park by the Japanese Garden, this 40+ km paved pathway is ideal for an afternoon walk as the sun sets and trees overflow with fall colours. Along the way, you might also want to play a quick tennis or pickleball match with your friends at any of the two courts available.

And if your furry friend is joining you on your adventure, you can make this a dog-friendly walk starting by the parking lot of the Sandman Centre. Walk along the trail to Pioneer Park and enjoy some quality time at this dog-friendly beach where your puppy is sure to make some new friends!

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Water sport rentals are now available at Riverside Park, offering single kayaks, tandem kayaks and paddleboards, where you can pay for the hour or the day.
